Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’ When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.” Acts 13:46-48 It is always a privilege to give presentations for those who are from the communities surrounding our churches. They bring such fresh perspectives, and the dialogues are always very fulfilling to me. And Auburn this past fall was no exception, even down to the simple things. One lady came up to me and thanked me for wearing jeans, of all things. This was the first casual evangelistic series I’ve ever given, but we may see more of them, as the community responded a lot more warmly to the casual attire vs. the suits. I know church folk never like it when I say that, but corporate America has been humored long enough. (I am smiling as I write this.) Thank you, Auburn, for another truly great series. The blessings were mutual. May the relationships we built with those who attended during this week last for eternity.
